I am a recent DePaul University graduate, where I received an animation degree with a concentration in cinema and minors in illustration and art. Currently, I am producing a youth radio show, applying to more and more conventions, and exploring what I can create! Ending the year by finishing my robot redraw (2019 original on the 2nd slide !) 🤖 I feel like younger me also didn't know what to do with the bottom left, because present day me was debating so many options. I think what originally influenced this idea was me playing NieR: Automata, and I've been such a robot fan since then. I made this for @pocketconchi (happening right now!). When I first read All-Negro Comics for a class project, I immediately fell in love with the Dew Dillies by Leonard Cooper. All-Negro Comics was the first magazine made by Black creatives, and I feel like the Dew Dillies were meant to be in the same vein as Rose O'Neill's Kewpie. This illustration is to honor some comic history! I know that @robinsonchrisrobinson released a remastered version of the magazine, and I definitely want to check that out one day. I created a placeholder for that assignment (slide 5) and included two pages I referenced for this. I feel like painting again has shifted how I want to approach digital art, and I think that change was noticable in my previous post. I saw some really vibrant red daylilies recently and thought about this piece I did for my Graphic Art class! The assignment was to take a person in our life and make an abject portrait of them, and I decided to use pieces from photos I had taken since meeting them. During the process, I found myself focusing on this idea of acknowledging every version of a person (past, present, and future) in order to see them fully I'll let you guess who it is based on! Or, an easier question: what's your favorite flower?
