Julia Hester is a recent graduate from DePaul University, where she received a BFA in animation with minors in illustration and art. She started to develop a focus on sharing stories, which grew as she increased her service involvement. She found herself combining art with service in her mind, viewing creation as an extension of how to help her various communities and art as a way to bring about change. To move toward fulfilling this mindset, she strives to always have a message in her stories or include diverse representation through her subjects.

Outside of art, you can find her exploring Chicago, enjoying tea, hanging with friends, or listening to music. She is currently working on several zines, animation ideas, refining her capstone film, and making bottle cap pins.
